International Driver Licenses
"Have you considered getting an International Driver Permit?"
That question comes up a lot, so to nip things in the bud,
the answer is yes, I have considered it, but I likely will not
get one. IDPs have a purpose, but they are based on treaty
law and are no good within the country of origin. Their
designed purpose is to allow international travelers to
drive in foreign countries.
If a citizen were to get stopped here in the states and present
an IDP as a license, it would likely clash with the car
registration. as the same person named as a resident of, say,
the Bahamas also has a car registered here in the states.
This would raise warning flags to the police officer, as IDPs
are only specifically allowed for foreigners and not for
domestic citizens. Usually people who do this also get the
car registered through some other person or business entity.
It's a little bit shady, and has a place in a country where
respect for liberty is at a minimum, but not for me right
now.

Furthermore, as established in the famous trial of William Penn in August 1670,
and contrary to the unlawful instructions given by most American judges, in
addition to judging the facts of a case, juries also have the right and duty to
pass judgement on the law (meaning they may acquit a violator of the law if they
believe the law in question is unconstitutional, immoral, just plain stupid, or
if the penalty is deemed too harsh). Juries are also lawfully free to vote
according to their conscience, above all other considerations.
